Campus Resource Drop-In Sessions

As you begin to plan for your arrival at Lafayette, it is important to know that there are many people available to assist with your transition. Through the Campus Resource Drop-In series, you will be introduced and learn how a number of individuals and departments can assist you during your first year on campus.

Title: Meet the Leos! 

Description: As an incoming first-year student you will be assigned a current Lafayette College student leader who will act as a peer mentor. Your Leo will provide holistic support to you during your entire first year, beginning with Orientation weekend and culminating at the end of your spring semester. Come out to this session to learn how they will be able to support you and all the fun activities they have planned!

You will meet our two Co-Directors and the seven Cub Captains. All are current students at Lafayette College and eager to meet you!

Title: Getting involved with Gateway Career Center during your first year

Description: It is never too early to begin to plan for your future! Learn how you can get involved with Gateway Career Center during your first year. Alana Klass will walk you through the different programming that the office offers. Topics include how to meet your Gateway career counselor, how to plan for the future without knowing your intended major(s), career center events available to first-year students, and more!

Title: The Office of Advising Final Check in Before the Big Arrival!

Description: Come spend some time with Dean Morris and Dean Close to hear any last minute updates and tips for a smooth transition, as well as ask your final questions! With move in just a little over 2 weeks away, we want to make sure you feel prepared and ready to go!

Description: Learn how you can make an impact with community engagement. Representatives from the Landis Center will provide an overview of programs and opportunities grounded in active citizenship.

Title: Counseling Center 101

Description: Did you know that approximately 40% of Lafayette students seek counseling during their college experience? Our counselors help students achieve positive mental health and cope with distress in order to make the most of their time at Lafayette. Come learn more about various services and resources the Counseling Center has to offer.

Title: Meet the Hub tutors and SI leaders

Description: Meet five of our student tutors and supplemental instruction (SI) leaders. Learn about the Hub’s academic support offerings and how they can assist you in meeting your academic goals.  In addition, they will answer questions about tutoring options and about Lafayette in general!
