Here at Lafayette, we take great pride in helping one another. Check out the drop-in sessions taking place over the next few weeks that will introduce you to many important campus resources.

As you begin to plan for your arrival at Lafayette, it is important to know that there are many individuals on campus who are available to assist you with this transition. Through this Campus Resource Drop-In series, you will be introduced to many of these individuals and offices and learn how they can assist you during your first year on campus.

Wednesday, July 15: 3-4 p.m. (EST)

Vanessa Pearson, Director of Student involvement

Title: How can the student involvement office get me involved on campus?

Description: Come learn about all of the activities, clubs, organizations, and programming that the Student Involvement Office organizes throughout the academic year! During this session you will also learn about activities that you can get involved in from the minute you step foot on campus! This office is known for hosting some pretty cool activities such as, karaoke night, trivia night, the club/organization fair, spring concert, and much more!


Wednesday, July 8: 3-4 p.m. (EST)

Jill heilman, Associate Director – Academic Resource HUb

Title: Meet the Hub Tutors and SI Leaders

Description: During this drop-in session, you will meet six of our current student tutors and supplemental instruction (SI) leaders. Our Academic Resource HUB student leaders will walk you through the Hub’s academic support offerings.  Find out about these free services and how they can assist you in meeting your academic goals.  In addition, they will answer any questions that you may have in regard to tutoring options or about Lafayette in general!

Alana Albus, senior associate director gateway counselor

Title: Getting involved with the Gateway Career Center during your first-year.

Description: It is never too early to begin to plan for your future! Learn about how you can get involved with the Gateway Career Center during your first-year. Alana Albus, Senior Associate Director and Gateway Counselor, will walk you through the different programming that the office offers during your first-year. Additionally, she will discuss what you need to do in order to meet your Gateway Career Counselor.

Title: Get involved in your local, regional, and global communities!

Description: Learn how you can make an impact with community engagement. Representatives from the Landis Center will provide an overview of programs and opportunities grounded in active citizenship.

Title: Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Description: Are you a curious individual? Do you ask yourself the questions, “Why?  Isn’t there a better way to do that?” Then the Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the place for you! We welcome all students who have a burning curiosity about life and its problems. We are here to encourage your creativity and help you create solutions that will make the world a better place. We would love to meet you and share ways we can help you grow as an innovator and develop your entrepreneurial mindset. Drop in for our open house session and learn about the wide range of virtual programming we are offering this fall.

Description: Did you know that approximately 40% of Lafayette students seek counseling during their college experience?
