- In early May, receive your Lafayette NetID and access to your Lafayette email account. All communications going forward will be sent to that addressso if you cannot access it, please be in touch with Janine Block to see what information you might be missing and she’ll help you connect with the correct departments.
- Receive your first addition of “First Things First,” our weekly email newsletter to incoming students.
- Take placement exams to prepare for the Course Preference Survey which will come in your email May 20th.
- Submit your housing form, religious identity survey, and dietary restrictions.
- Apply for the English for Academic Purposes Center (EAPC) Conversation Pardner Program if you are interested in participating.
- To establish disability and initiate the request process for academic, dining, and/or housing accommodations, contact Accessibility Services.
June
- Submit your medical forms, proof of health insurance, and emergency contact information.
- Submit your final high school transcript to the Office of Admissions.
- If you included standardized testing in your application and self-reported your scores, submit the official test results to the Office of Admissions.
- Connect with the International Orientation Team through WhatsApp and WeChat – the IO24 Peer Captains will be reaching out to you via email to answer questions and provide support as you make the move to a new country.
- Connect with your Leo (“Lafayette Extended Orientation” leader)—they’ll be reaching out to you via email and can help answer questions as you transition over the summer.

July
- Receive your housing assignment.
- Start gathering your stuff for college: sheets, towels, notebooks, toiletries, decor, etc. Work with Janine Block to ship items in advance of your arrival.
- Receive an invitation to join your orientation GroupMe from your LEO.
- In late July, activate your Handshake account through Gateway Career Center to access information regarding on-campus and work-study positions, Engineering Studies 101, and Gateway Career Center programs.
- Be on the lookout in your Lafayette email account for your tuition bill.
- Submit IO24 Survey One. Participate in the IO24 Virtual Kick-off.
August
- In early August, receive your preliminary class schedule and review with your faculty adviser. Order textbooks/required course materials.
- Submit your travel arrangements through IO24 Survey Two. Participate in the IO24 Virtual Pre-departure Prep Session.
- Pay your tuition bill by August 1, 2024.
- Journey with International Orientation on August 17th!
- First day of class: Aug. 26, 2024!
